My name is Denise, and we're asking for help to help my mom.

My mom, Jeannine, is an absolutely wonderful woman. She is a United States Veteran, she was Military Police for the army. She was a single mom, and worked and did her best to raise me to the best of her ability. She's had a lot of medical problems throughout the years, and has always been able to push through them, and just keep going. However, we learned that her trachea is deteriorating, and will partially collapse when she coughs too much, and it's become very difficult for her to breathe. We have also learned that she should no longer live alone, and that her doctor feels she needs to go into a nursing home or live with family. My mom doesn't want to live in a nursing home. She doesn't want to lose her independence like that, and we don't want that for her either. We are looking for financial help, to make it so my mom can live with us, and help us cover her medical expenses. We found a lung specialist who is not at the VA, and Medicare will only cover so much. This will also help with her in-home care, and getting her to and from her appointments. This is what she wants more than anything, to spend the rest of her time with her kids and grandkids. This wonderful woman has done so much in her life and for me, and I just want to be able to help her live the rest of it as happy and as best as we absolutely can.
