Imagine waging a seven year battle with cancer for your spouse and losing that battle. Imagine having to raise seven children, six of whom are still at home, two (soon to be three) in college, by yourself. You’re still reeling from the loss of your spouse and the challenges of running a household, maintaining a home for your children and working a full time job. Now image learning you have stage-4 Lung Cancer within weeks of saying good bye to your husband of 35-years.
That’s the world facing Jeannine Kelsey and her children. Jeannine has been a member of the Sturgeon Bay community since her junior high days. As a Registered Nurse, she has taken care of many in the Emergency Room, both at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay and at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay. She has been an active member and volunteer in her church community, serving communion, supporting countless fund raisers, and chaperoning youth outreach missions in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. She has also offered her services through the YMCA for many years.
Jeannine is the person who never waivers, never hesitates, never declines to lend a hand when called upon. She has lead her life as a gracious servant leader in every regard.
Now is the time to get behind one of our own, a behind the scenes leader in the community who has given selflessly and freely of her time, energy and treasure to help others in their time of need. Don’t let Jeannine and her children face this challenge alone. All donations will go toward defraying medical and travel expenses for ongoing treatments. Please show your support through your generous donation and uplifting prayers. Thank you and God Bless you!
