Support Jeanine Ortt's Family and Road to Recovery

This fundraising effort has been created on behalf of the Ortt family and Jeanine Ortt.

 

On Sunday, July 28th, with just over a week before her 46th birthday, Jeanine had a series of strokes and was immediately rushed to Christiana Hospital where doctors performed a 6+ hour emergency surgery to remove a large tumor from the right side of her brain. This tragic event completely blindsided the family and devastated her husband, daughter, and all those who know and love her.

 

Jeanine is still currently in the ICU, which is providing crucial time for her brain to heal. And, although there are still MANY unknowns ahead regarding her long-term prognosis, doctors remain very cautiously optimistic about her recovery based on her age and health. This will require time, above all else. Her recovery, we are told, will be around 6 to 12 months, if not longer, and will require extremely intensive physical therapy.

 

Thank you to all our family, friends and co-workers who have provided support for Jeanine and our family throughout this difficult time, and for those of you who are waiting in the wings to be called upon when needed. We appreciate you more than you know.

 

This GoFundMe has been established with the intention of raising funds to go towards Jeanine’s recovery needs and help blunt the impact of the sudden financial strain caused by this unexpected

event. These funds will also help in ensuring Jeanine’s daughter Celia has everything she needs to thrive at school this year, and to help in assisting Jeanine’s elderly parents, for whom Jeanine was the primary caregiver. Any donation (big or small) is greatly appreciated.
