We are fundraising on behalf of our family member Jeanine to help her achieve stability after many years of hardship, housing insecurity, and domestic abuse. Jeanine is a disabled Mexican-American mother to two wonderful kids, Violet and Dominic. She is currently a full-time student working hard to gain her nursing license, something women in our family have done for generations.

Jeanine is currently in an unstable and unsafe housing situation with a man who is controlling her and putting her and her kids safety at risk. He recently went to jail for physically assaulting her and has a hearing in February, but in the meantime, unfortunately continues to live with her and the kids. He continues to harass her and gives her no privacy or peace. In this midst of all this, Jeanine is struggling to stay caught up with school while trying to protect herself and her children and figure out a plan for housing.

Jeanine is currently not getting financial aid from her school due to the school's 10+ year old records keeping her on probation from when she was younger. In the meantime, she is living off only $1000 a month for her and her two children. An appeal is in process with her school to hopefully release funds as soon as possible, but it likely won't be until March 2026.

It is not currently known whether he will be moving or staying, or if he will be convicted in his hearing. Either way, the focus is on raising enough money to either keep their current housing, or move to safer housing elsewhere.

Jeanine and the kids need all the support they can get to stay housed and stay in school to have a safer and more stable future. That is why we are asking for your help. We are asking community to come together and support the survival of these dear members of our family.

Funds will go towards living expenses, rent and utilities, clothing, school supplies, and other essentials.
