Dear Park Lane Family:

I wanted to share some difficult news about my cousin and fellow Park Lane Stylist and Branch Director, Jeanette Huizar. Jeanette has always been very engaging with my VIP Group, so you may already be familiar with who she is. She was recently diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Tragically, the life expectancy after diagnosis is 3-5 years. If you know Jeanette, she is an incredibly giving person who has always faced life with strength and determination as a devoted mom to 3 beautiful children and wife to her husband, Miguel.

This is an urgent call for help as Jeanette is facing a challenging battle with IPF that requires a medication called Ofev which can slow the progression of the disease and potentially extend her life. Unfortunately, the cost is overwhelming. Her out-of-pocket expense for a monthly prescription is $7,000. Her annual out-of-pocket max under her medical coverage plan is $8,400. Once she meets her OOP max, her medical insurance will cover the medication at 100% for the remainder of the calendar year. Each calendar year, she will be faced with the same financial stress.

Right now, our personal family is coming together to raise funds; however, if anyone in our Park Lane family feels called to join me in this effort, it would mean the world to Jeanette, her 3 children, and Miguel. Every bit helps, whether it's through a donation or simply sharing her story.

For those unfamiliar with IPF, it is a chronic, progressive lung disease that causes scarring of the lung tissue. Over time, this scarring thickens the lungs, making it difficult to breathe and for oxygen to pass into the bloodstream. As the disease progresses, the lungs gradually lose their ability to function, ultimately leading to respiratory failure. While there is no cure, Ofev can help slow the progression, manage the condition, and improve quality of life.
