Support JC's Recovery After Hit-and-Run

Donation protected
Hi everyone, this is Tiffany, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my dear friend JC Arce.

Early Sunday morning (8/10/2025) in Westwood, JC survived something no one should ever have to endure; he was run over by a car in a hit-and-run. The impact threw him into the air and into his friend’s car. He’s lucky to be alive, but he sustained multiple serious injuries and is now facing an incredibly challenging recovery.

JC can’t walk. He can’t even sit upright without extreme pain. Everyday activities we take for granted, such as bathing, eating, and using the toilet, have become exhausting struggles. He’ll need long-term physical therapy, medical care, and daily living support to recover.

The driver has not yet been found. The police are actively investigating, but JC is determined to do everything possible to find out who did this and hold them accountable. That fight for justice, on top of healing, takes resources he simply doesn’t have right now.

JC has dedicated so much of his life to helping others, from building community movements to championing sustainability and social justice. As someone born and raised in Los Angeles, I’ve seen firsthand how he has become a pillar in our community. Whether organizing relief centers for those impacted by the LA Wildfires, working on sustainable and accessible transportation and youth economic development for the City of LA, or driving climate action as the founder of LA Climate Week, JC has shown up for our community time and time again. Now, in his moment of crisis, it’s our turn to show up for him.

As his friend, I would love to help him in any way possible, and here is how you can too:

1. Any Funds You Can Offer: Funds will go directly to JC to cover rent, food, medical transportation, recovery supplies, lost wages, and costs tied to supporting the search for the driver.
2. Share this fundraiser with your friends or family to help us reach as many people as possible.
3. Offer resources or connections: We’re especially looking for referrals to personal injury attorneys who work on contingency, and local support for groceries, errands, or mobility help.

JC is one of the most resilient and giving people I know, and now he needs our help more than ever. I know how hard it is for him to ask for help, which is why I’m asking for him. Every single bit of support matters, whether it’s financial, practical, or simply spreading the word.

Thank you.
