Support Jazz's Family After Tornado Devastation
Donation protected
Hello-As most of you know,St.Louis was ravaged by a tornado over the weekend. That tornado has left a trail of carnage in its wake that is comparable to a war zone. Many of the areas hit the hardest are impoverished communities, housing the working poor, the elderly, many of which are living in their generationtional homes. My dear friend Yvonne’s (known as Jazz by the community) home incurred severe damage in her street in The Delmar Divide. She lost her attic, her windows and roof amongst many other things. Jazz may have very little by society’s standard, but she gives SO MUCH of herself to her community. Constantly working to fix her elderly neighbors home’s,raise $ to pay their property taxes (so they don’t loose their homes),Foodshare programs, community gardens, and outreach for our unhoused communities and would literally give the shirt off her back to a stranger. I met her when I got involved in the Social Justice Movement and we instantly became Sisters. I was down there yesterday as she and a devoted crew of friends worked to tarp roofs and board up her windows and the neighbor’s as well. Everyone was pitching in and then the rain came,so now,not only are they without power (she’s been told it will be weeks) but now the inside of her home is covered in water. The hits just keep on coming. I feel so powerless and want to do whatever I can to help them fix their home and not have it condemned simply because she doesn’t have the money to get the repairs she so desperately needs. She has 4 children and a grandbaby all staying in her home right now.
Any donation is beyond appreciated,no amount is too small. Your donation could help them get mortar, wood, shingles, new windows, food and other supplies that they so desperately need. I want my beautiful sister to see all the love she gives to others, coming right back to her
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I would so appreciate you sharing it EVERYWHERE
