Support Jazmine’s Healing While She Fights CF in the ICU

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit to ask for support during an incredibly difficult time for our family. My daughter Jazmine has been critically ill and has been in the ICU at UT Southwestern for the past seven weeks.

She was admitted on March 31st due to a severe cystic fibrosis flare-up, and just a few days later—on her birthday, April 3rd—she was placed on ECMO support. By April 6th, she also required a ventilator to help her breathe. She has since undergone a tracheostomy to provide longer-term respiratory support as she currently remains on the ventilator.

While we’re incredibly grateful that she no longer needs ECMO, Jazmine’s journey to recovery is far from over. Her strength amazes me every day, but the road ahead is long and uncertain. Right now, one of our biggest hopes is that she’ll soon be able to communicate again and reconnect with the friends and family who love her so much.
