My name is Ja'Zaiah Duah. I’m a freshman at Purchase College, majoring in screenwriting and minoring in film. This project, "Blood on the Tree", is a psychological thriller that has lived in my head for years, and I’m finally ready to bring its fractured world to the screen.
The story follows Emmett, a young man trapped between a crumbling reality and a dark sense of justice. Set against the jarring contrast of Christmas lights and a vintage soundtrack, the film explores the thin line between a good man and the monsters he hunts. It’s a study of trauma and a mind that creates its own light when the world goes dark, even if that light is a lie.
