Yesterday afternoon, Amy and her 8 year old son, Jayson, were on their way home from school when they were struck head on by an SUV. The driver of the SUV swerved to avoid several horses that had gotten loose and were running in the road, resulting in the head on collision.

Jayson was properly restrained in the backseat with his seatbelt on, but he sustained significant facial trauma and a concussion. He has multiple fractures to his face and jaw that will require surgical repair. There is also a possibility he will need dental surgery if his teeth are unable to be reimplanted. Jayson is currently receiving care at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Amy will need to take time off work to remain by Jayson’s side during his hospitalization and recovery. With the uncertainty surrounding his healing time and the medical expenses ahead, this GoFundMe has been created to help ease the immediate financial burden on their family so they can focus fully on Jayson’s care and healing.
