Support Jays Rides Recovery After Bad Motorcycle Crash

Donation protected
Hey guys it’s Jay rides. Some of y’all know that I was involved in a pretty bad motorcycle accident on March 10th.

I was riding with a group of 5 riders, 4 of the guys I knew, the other guy was a friend of the others. That day around 6:15 pm, we went to do a loop around I30-George Bush Turnpike back to fuel city. The new guy we had met was leading while myself, Flex, Nino and another friend were following behind. We were in the toll road and there were 2 lanes, one to continue on to the toll and one to exit. I was behind the leader at a safe distance and saw him go to the right lane to exit, therefore I followed. However, he jumped back into the left lane as the median was approaching. at the time, we were both in the left lane to keep going straight on the toll. I remember watching and questioning his actions as he looked down at his phone, swerved over to the right a little, go back, and then with no hand or turn signal he pulled all the way to the right lane in front of me. When he looked down at his phone in the left lane, he ended up slowing down, closing the gap between us. Once I saw him cut in front of me I had no other option but to hit the breaks or hit the median.

The brakes locked up and sent me over the handlebars, sliding me across the concrete and into a ditch with mud and water. I was taken to the ER in Dallas and had to get my gear cut off in the ambulance revealing a 4 inch patch of exposed muscle on my right arm as well as road rash on my lower back, chest, and my left arm. Thankfully I was wearing padded gear, a helmet and riding boots or I may not have survived this accident. At the ER they confirmed that I had fractured my right arm, tore a piece of my tricep off of the bone, and tore the membrane in both elbow joints which required surgery to reduce the risk of infection, sepsis and arthritis in the future. I also received a small amount of damage to my right carotid artery in my neck (the largest artery that runs from the heart to the brain) due to the whiplash from hitting the ground. I also have a large hematoma (pooling of blood/ severe bruising) on my left leg starting at the top of the knee all the way up to mid thigh. I have bruises on the side of my boobs and on the back of my left arm making it very painful to maneuver, sit or lay on my left side as of now.

I ended up loosing my phone, AirPods case, car keys, house keys and my garage fob key during the wreck. As for my bike, I don’t know the full condition yet except for it has a lot of cosmetic damage including the fairings, the back end/ taillight, the windscreen and a couple of other small things. My sliders from TRexRacing saved my engine I believe but I won’t know everything until Smurf is able to break it down. I included the photos below.

I received surgery the next day after the wreck at 7:30 am and will be staying another couple of nights at the hospital until they can check out my carotid artery with a CT Scan. Which means no TX2K. Although that sucks, I’m so very grateful to have survived and am able to make a full recovery. I’m also very thankful for my friends who came by and stayed with me while at the hospital.

The recovery process will be long and hard mentally. Both of my arms are going to have to rest during this time. I will have to go to physical therapy once I am released from the hospital and won’t be able to tattoo during my healing process. Any donation, no matter how big or small will be put towards my medical bills, repairing my bike, and covering my rent for the next couple of months since I won’t be able to work. If you cannot donate, simply just share the donation link and spread the word. Thanks again and I’m going to try to stay positive though this rough time -J
