Support Jay's Recovery from Bed Bug Infestation

Hi, My name is Jay. I’m a disabled trans man living in NC currently.

I recently lost almost all of my belongings, including my bed, to a horrible bed bug infestation. I work in a hotel currently, and ended up accidentally bringing home bed bugs with me from my job. I’m absolutely devastated to say the least.

My bed frame, mattress, box spring, and pillows all need to be replaced. Unfortunately there were holes in my box spring and mattress, so the infestation is inside of those. My bed frame is also covered in fabric, and realistically I would never be able to get rid of these parasites if I kept the bed frame.

All together, everything that I have that needs to be replaced, totals around $1000.

I only make 700$ a month, which all goes to paying rent, paying for my diabetes medication, needles for my injections, food, and gas. After all of my expenses I don’t have anything left over. On my own it would take me years to replace my bed and get this infestation felt with.

fund will directly go to getting a new mattress ($374$) , a new box spring ($117), a new bed frame (170$), a temporary air mattress (70$), bug chemicals and cleaning supplies (80$).
