Reaching out here for a very dear friend of 20 years. We met in 2005. I had purchased a collector car and Jay, an avid car guy, owned a company specializing in cars like mine. An amazing, devoted father, husband, new Grandfather living an active healthy lifestyle, now unable to thrive due to this debilitating medical issue.
Sharing his story here as he reluctantly agreed to let me offer any help to him and his family. A humble man never wanting charity.
Jay's situation is as follows:
At the beginning of 2022, Jay repeatedly fell ill with sinus infections, throat infections, and persistent night sweats. In October 2022, Jay was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. During treatment, Jay went into septic shock. Upon arrival at the hospital, Jay's pulse was 268 and blood pressure was 62/50—dangerously close to fatal. After undergoing cardioversion and extensive efforts to restore heart, kidney, and liver function, doctors removed Jay’s spleen. Pathology revealed a large number of NK-T cells in the spleen and bone marrow. Fortunately, the lymphoma left with the removal of the spleen.
About a month later, Jay was diagnosed with NK-T Cell Lymphocytosis, a very rare blood disorder that prevents the body from producing neutrophils—critical cells that fight infection. Since March of 2023, doctors have been trying to manage the condition using immunosuppressants and multiple chemotherapy drugs, but with no success. The ongoing battle, including numerous hospital stays (57 days in 2025 alone), has placed Jay in a severe financial bind that is becoming overwhelming.
Crippling medical and household expenses have added stress for Jay and his family while he battles this situation daily. * I will regularly update as funds are distributed and where.
