Help Jay Fight Cancer and Support Her Family
Goal: $50,000 (Medical costs, income support, and wage shortfall for 6 months)
About Jay
My wife, Jacqueline “Jay” Langton (46), is the heart of our family. She is the mother of six children (ages 28 to 8) and the proud grandmother of seven. At just 46, she is still raising her youngest while also being an anchor for her older children and grandchildren.
Jay has always been the first to show up for anyone—whether it’s solving a problem, offering a shoulder to lean on, or giving more of herself than she had to spare. She is my best friend and my rock. Now, she’s the one who needs us to be hers.
The Diagnosis
Jay has been diagnosed with Stage 2A2 Advanced Cervical Cancer. Doctors have recommended a combination of chemotherapy and radiation—an intensive treatment plan that begins with six weeks of chemo-radiation therapy, followed by ongoing follow-ups over the next 24 months.
Why We Need Help
Our family recently immigrated to the USA from South Africa as refugees. Starting over has been both humbling and exhausting, and we’ve poured everything into building a new life.
Jay was beginning to establish herself with projects that brought in around $4,000 per month, but treatment means she will need to put this work on hold for 4–6 months. At the same time, I will need to reduce my hours at work to care for her and support her through treatments.
The numbers are simple but daunting:
$15,000 – uncovered medical expenses
$25,000 – lost income from Jay’s work
$10,000 – my reduced wages while caring for her
This totals $50,000 to cover our 6-month shortfall.
A Journey of Survival
We’ve survived threats and attacks in South Africa and rebuilt from scratch here in the USA. We’ve worked hard not to lean on others since arriving on May 12th, but this diagnosis has shaken us. The irony isn’t lost on us: after surviving so much, we now face a new battle—not just against cancer, but against the crushing financial strain it brings.
Why Jay Matters
Jay isn’t just my wife or the mother of our children—she is a light to everyone who knows her. At only 46, she still has so much life ahead of her, and so many people rely on her love and strength. She has a way of touching lives, lifting spirits, and giving love where it’s most needed.
Now it’s our turn to rally for her.
How You Can Help
We’re asking for support so we can focus on healing instead of worrying about bills. Every donation, big or small, helps us move forward. If you aren’t able to give financially, sharing Jay’s story is just as valuable—it helps bring more people into her circle of support.
Together, we can give Jay the best chance at recovery while keeping our family steady during these critical months.
❤️ Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read Jay’s story. Thank you for your prayers, your support, your shares, and your donations.
With love and gratitude,
