Last Thursday, June 6, my family and I received a text from my sister, Jayna, letting us know that she had been in a freak horseback riding accident and had fractured her pelvis in 2 separate places. Jayna has been around horses for well over 25 years, taking a short hiatus when she relocated to CA in 2020. However, her heart has always been in the saddle. She started taking lessons again which brought her SUCH happiness. This was a genuine accident. Freak fall. Bad landing.

She is currently hospitalized as she works on overcoming the pain and using her lower half again. From there, she is looking at 1-2 weeks of intensive rehabilitation 3x/day.

She would absolutely never ask for help. As her sister, hearing the pain, fear, and loneliness in her voice has truly ripped my heart out. I can't fix this for her despite wanting to in the worst way.

My hope is that I can help alleviate SOME of the financial burden as her full recovery will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-8 weeks and it unknown when she will be able to return to work.
