On January 2nd, my brother, Jaymie suffered a very severe hemorrhagic (bleeding) stroke causing complete numbness on the right side of his body. Due to the severity of his condition, he was sedated and intubated. He had surgery on the 3rd and it was a success. Praise the Lord!
Three days later he aspirated, causing fluids to enter his lungs, which in turn caused him to develop pneumonia as well. He remained sedated and on the ventilator for 15 days. By God’s grace, he was able to come off of the ventilator (he actually weaned himself off of it). Praise the Lord!
He is currently in rehab and doing very well; however, it is an uphill battle to correct any speech issues (he still gets some words mixed up) and mobility for the right side of his body. He has progressed significantly in the last few weeks and we give God all the Glory for that.
He has a long road ahead of him to fully recover, and this inevitably will have a financial impact on him. The Wallin Family is trying to raise funds for Jaymie to ensure he does not have to worry about the financial hardship this has caused and can focus on recovery! The funds will go towards ongoing medical expenses, equipment needed to ensure his home is accessible, and any future needs as he navigates this new way of life.
We ask also for prayer that Jaymie stays encouraged through this process as he has been given a second chance at life, and knows he has a lot of work to do to get to where he needs to be! We appreciate everyone reaching out and showing how big of a support system Jaymie has! On behalf of my family and Jaymie, thank you all so much and we love you all❤️❤️
