Support Jaymie Matlock's Road to Recovery

Jaymie Matlock is a loving spouse, a caring father, the king of dad jokes, and a playful and active grandfather. He is an active participant in his community and someone who just can’t sit still. He’s always looking for a project and a way to help those around him and those he cares about.

On Sunday, September 22nd, Jay was doing some yard work and suffered a traumatic fall, resulting in permanent damage to his spinal column and paralysis from the waist down. The medical team at Lancaster General Hospital is working to stabilize his injuries and ensure that he has the best quality of life going forward.

Jay and his wife Gaylen own Carriage Corner Bed & Breakfast in Intercourse, PA, which they started in October of 2016. They have many repeat guests who love their stays at Carriage Corner and rave about not just the food and rooms, but the hospitality and the personal touches that both Jay & Gaylen bring to the experience.

Additionally, Jay & Gaylen have immersed themselves in the local Amish community since moving from the Seattle area to Lancaster County, PA, in 2016. They have many Amish friends, and even some they consider family, that they routinely help with driving, running errands, and so much more.

Jay will have a long road ahead of him with spinal rehabilitation and adapting to life in a wheelchair. Right now, we don’t know what all that will entail, but we do know that in addition to the medical bills, there will be rehab bills and housing accommodations to be made so that he can live his best life after this injury.
