Jaymic has been admitted to the Hospital since August 5th with severe sepsis caused by a staph infection in his dialysis port, that unfortunately attatched to and eroded his hearts mitral valve. The infection in his heart started to spread throughout his body and spread clots to his lungs and limbs. The infection was so bad that on August 14th he underwent a 10 hour open heart surgery after being transferred to the University of Washington where they had to re open his sternum clean out the infection in his heart and replace his mitral valve with a mechanical valve and place a metal plate in his chest to add more stability to his sternum.

He lost alot of blood during his surgery and has been getting several blood transfusions and it took 24 hours to get him off the ventilator but hes now stable and is talking a bit.

Now that the surgery part is over we can move forward a little bit and focus on bringing him home with the assistive devices he needs and the impending medical costs as well as travel costs for getting him too and from seattle for follow up visits.

Jaymic is also the primary income earner for our family and in order to allow for him to take a break from work and for me to allow to be his care giver as well as our children's only support as they also deal with this difficult time we will also be using funds for basic bills and getting ready to move into our new apartment while Jaymic recovers in the hospital.

Our family has simply been put through it all this year and the only reason were still here and able to keep Jaymic going is because of all of our friends, family and loved ones.❤️

Update: Unfortunately we just found out Jaymic is having alot of bleeding and they aren't sure where the bleeding is coming from right now so they have stopped all blood thinners (which he permanently needs for his mitral valve) but they suspect the bleeding is somewhere in his GI track so they have done an upper GI to try to find the bleeding and they will be doing a lower one to continue looking. Unfortunately this isn't the direction we were expecting things to take and hes back to being in a more critical condition and is recieving more blood transfusions. ❤️
