Support Jayme's Battle Against Rosai-Dorfman
Donation protected
For over a year, my friend Jayme has been battling Rosai-Dorfman disease, a rare disorder that involves the overproduction of a specific white blood cell, causing tumors.
Jayme began experiencing issues last year with her vision deteriorating. Over time, her symptoms continued to worsen. Her fear was confirmed - doctors found a mass near her brain and eye area. Surgery was necessary.
8/27/24: They removed most of the mass from her brain and around her optic nerve area. (Part of the tumor is in an area that is high risk, and the surgeon didn’t want to remove it.) Biopsy results diagnosed her with Rosai-Dorfman.
As a result of the painful and invasive surgery, Jayme was placed on restrictions and unable to work for 5 months. She had a short period of time where she felt better and worked part-time. But as days went on, her vision and condition worsened. A scan confirmed the tumor mass doctors didn’t remove had grown.
5/20/25: Another surgery to remove more of the mass. Jayme is still waiting to hear if radiation or chemotherapy will be the next step. She’s fighting to keep her vision and considers it a win if she goes more than a few hours without debilitating headaches.
Jayme has been denied disability benefits, despite her obvious need for them. After not being able to work for several months, the 2 surgeries, endless medications, transportation to and from doctor appointments, everyday bills, and now medical bills are becoming overwhelming. Any amount that you can give is appreciated and will go toward helping support Jayme and her family as she continues to fight this disease until she can get back on her feet.
