Support Jaymee’s Groundbreaking Medical Journey

Hello everyone, I’m starting this fundraiser for my dear friend Jaymee, a single mother of three who is currently fighting for her life against two rare and debilitating medical conditions.
Her case is so specialized that she has had to seek life-saving, ground-breaking treatment out of state, far from the three children who need her most.

The Heart of the Struggle: A Choice Between Health and Family
For Jaymee, the "price" of saving her life has become the very thing standing in the way of her being a mother. It is a cruel irony… to survive, she must be away from her children & to be healthy enough to hold & care for them, she must undergo surgeries she cannot afford.
The stakes are even higher at home because Jaymee isn’t just fighting for her own health. She is the primary caregiver for three children, including her youngest, who also faces his own medical challenges. Every day she spends trapped in a hospital or weakened by malnutrition is a day she cannot be the "present" mom she yearns to be. She is caught in a heartbreaking cycle where the financial burden of her survival is the only thing keeping her from the children who are her entire world.

A Medical "First": The Battle with SMAS
Recently, Jaymee was diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS). This rare condition occurs when a major artery compresses her duodenum, physically blocking food from passing through. It has left her in constant pain, suffering from chronic nausea, and severe malnutrition.
Because standard treatments were failing, Jaymee’s medical team performed a laparoscopic duodenojejunostomy using magnetic anastomosis. Why this is significant: While the surgery itself is known, using magnets instead of traditional sutures or staples has never been performed for SMAS until Jaymee’s case. Being the first person to undergo this specific technique means she is a pioneer, but it also means there was no established insurance pathway or "playbook" for her care. This required advanced surgical planning, specialized equipment, and a multidisciplinary team that insurance has been slow to cover. Her pre pay amount itself is $52,509.43
The Road Ahead: Nutcracker Syndrome
In addition to SMAS, Jaymee is battling Nutcracker Syndrome, where her left renal vein is more than 70% narrowed.
• The Progress: After the failure of several temporary nasal tubes (NG and NJ), Jaymee successfully underwent surgery for a J-tube. This is a massive victory—it is finally providing the consistent nutrition her body has been starved of for so long.
• The Goal: An auto-transplant of her kidney.
• The Final Obstacle: While the J-tube is helping her gain the strength needed for this major transplant, the mountain of medical debt and out-of-state costs are blocking her path to the finish line.

The Financial Burden
Jaymee is a single mother trying to care for her 3 children while her body is failing her. Between the "experimental" nature of her life-saving surgery, the out-of-state travel, and losing her job due to chronic illness, the financial strain is beyond catastrophic. This surgery wasn’t just about medical innovation. It was about giving Jaymee the chance to eat, live without constant pain, and be the mother her three kids deserve.

How You Can Help
If you are able to donate, your contribution will go directly toward these specialized medical bills, travel costs, and basic survival for Jaymee and her three children. If you cannot donate, please share this story.

Thank you for standing with Jaymee as she makes medical history and fights to get back to the three little ones who are waiting for their mom to come home.
