Hi everyone,

My name is Jayla, and I’m a student at North Carolina A&T State University, currently enrolled in a business course where we’re diving into the world of coffee as a global industry, and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to take that learning international.

This summer, I’ll be traveling to Brazil with my class to explore how coffee goes from the farm to your favorite cup, and more importantly, how it connects to entrepreneurship, global trade, and building a successful business. From the economics to the branding to the sustainability behind it all, this trip will give me real-world insight that I can bring back and build on — in my career, and hopefully one day, in my own business.

This isn’t a vacation but, it’s an investment into my education, my future, and my purpose. I’ll be learning directly from growers, small businesses, exporters, and professionals who live and breathe this industry every day. As a young Black student, especially coming from an HBCU, I see this as a chance to break barriers and gain tools I can carry for life.

The total cost of the trip is $4,800, and my goal is to raise the funds by May 5. This includes travel, meals, housing, and all educational experiences while in Brazil.

If you’ve ever had someone pour into your dreams, I hope you’ll consider being that person for me. Any amount $5, $10, $50 brings me one step closer. And even if you can’t donate, just sharing this helps so much!
