UPDATE 9/30- Update 9/30/24- 27 days in the hospital due to this incident.

Jaydrian Harney currently has pneumonia. He is on antibiotics, struggling using voice valve on his trach, and coughs up secretions all day and night and needing suctioning constantly. We will most likely be in the hospital for at least another week of not longer. He may go home with feeding tube and/or trach after he is cleared. He has a long road ahead of him due to this nightmare.

UPDATE: As of today Jaydrian is being backed off of sedation as well as the ventilator. He's alert and communicating at this time. This is a huge blessing! He has a long road of recovery ahead of him, but progress is being made in the right direction today. The family is so grateful for Jaydrian's teachers and school administrators coming to see him. A huge thank you to the ICU team caring for Jaydrian. Their attention, love, and medical oversight had saved his life. Keep praying, it's working!

Update: Jaydrian has had two additional surgeries since the original repair surgery on Sunday. One of those was an emergency life saving surgery just after midnight last night, after his heart, lungs, and body cavitiy filled with air post tracheotomy repair surgery. Jaydrian is on a ventilator at this time with mulpile drains relieving air in the ICU at St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Thank you to the night team caring for him that saved his life last night. The family is forever grateful.

Jaydrian Harney, a junior at Middleton High School, was involved in incident involving faulty equipment and a zipline on Friday. During emergency surgery to repair a double jaw fracture, it was discovered there was a significant amount of damage that nobody had anticipated. Jaydrian is in ICU at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, in the ICU. He is in a medically induced coma at this time. His dad, the sole income for this family, is off work to support Jaydrian and his mom, who just had emergency spinal surgery. Please help support this family so they can stay at the hospital with Jaydrian, have access to meals while there, travel back and forth, and take time off work.
