On February 11, 2026, our lives changed in a way we never imagined. My nephew Jayden had multiple seizures, which has led him to be on a ventilator for the past 3 weeks and has caused multiple additional issues to arise within his body. This has caused great concern and fear for our family. Jayden’s parents have had to miss work, putting a strain on their households. Jayden’s mom, Jolene, has not left his side since day one. She is his VOICE! Her FMLA for him has been denied, and her unpaid leave will run out March 11, 2026. Bills are still required to be paid. Jolene works as a CNA and has taken care of numerous other families and now is in need of the same level of care she provides for others. Jayden’s parents are hardworking individuals and need our help. Out-of-pocket expenses for gas to travel back and forth to UVA and food to eat every day alone are excessive. Household expenses are being put on hold in order to be able to maintain day-to-day needs, all while the fear of not knowing if you will have a job or you may lose your home, once all of this is over, is a major strain on this family. Jayden has a long road ahead of him and I want to help them worry as less as possible! Please! They need our help!
