Support Jayden and her family through AMML (leukemia)
Donation protected
We are raising funds to support the Thornton family as Jayden begins treatment for Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia (AMML), a subtype of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Jayden is an incredible mom, wife, daughter, and friend. She and her husband, Kyle, are the proud parents of a spunky and sweet 2-year-old daughter, Raya. A talented hairdresser, Jayden is admired by her coworkers and loved by her clients. Those who have the privilege of knowing her know that she loves deeply and is fiercely loyal. She never fails to show up for those in need, and now it’s our turn to return the love!
In late January, after weeks of feeling unwell, Jayden was referred to a hematologist. At that appointment, she and Kyle received the news that there was a strong suspicion of blood cancer. Within days, Jayden was admitted to her local hospital’s oncology unit to begin a long journey. Jayden was diagnosed with AMML and immediately started IV chemotherapy, anticipating an initial month-long stay. Her treatment plan will also include an additional round of inpatient chemotherapy, likely to be followed by a bone marrow transplant. Her doctors expect her full course of treatment and recovery will take about a year.
Funds raised will help ease the financial burden on the Thornton family. With Jayden unable to work during her treatment and recovery, the family is adjusting to a single income. Donations will help cover medical expenses and essential bills, such as their mortgage, childcare for sweet Raya, as well as other costs that were once shared between two incomes—allowing the family to focus on Jayden’s health and healing.
For anyone who is interested in finding another way to help, please consider joining the national bone marrow donor program registry .
On behalf of the Thornton family and all those who care for them, we sincerely thank you for your generous donation.
