Support Jayda's Care for Aunt Evelyn

My name is Jayda, and I am raising funds for my Aunt Ms. Evelyn. My aunt adopted me when I was around 4 years old and has raised me for the majority of my life. On January 16, 2025, I called the ambulance because something was off. She was admitted into Grady Memorial Hospital, where it was deemed that she suffered from a couple of large strokes on both sides of her brain. She was in some type of sleep coma for a little over a week and was not waking up nor talking. As a result, she was placed on a feeding tube and spent a short time in the ICU. During that transition, her purse went missing at Grady. Once she started opening her eyes, it was about another week before she actually started trying to speak. Grady discharged her 3 weeks later and gave me same-day notice that she was being moved to Parkside at Budd Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. I looked into the reviews and site prior and thought it would be a good fit; however, I was not prepared for what was to come. During her time at Parkside, I was never provided a detailed care plan for her treatment and what was being done for physical therapy. She ended up with a mysterious bruise on her arm that the facility claims came from the “Hoyer Lift” during transport. I found a bug in her food while feeding her during my visit. I was recommended by a nurse to purchase some clothes from Goodwill so that she could have clothes for physical therapy. This was about 2 months into her stay. I purchased her clothes as instructed, and they were also misplaced by the facility. The last straw was her being attacked by another patient at the facility. She ended up with scratches near her mouth and eye. I was not informed of the incident until after the police came and spoke with my auntie with no family present. Since the stroke, she has been in a childlike state, bed-bound, unable to read, write, and still struggling to speak correctly. She maxed out her Medicare benefits and had to be discharged from the Parkside facility on May 17, 2025. I moved her into a personal care home, which so far she seems to be much happier and more comfortable (as pictured above). Because this personal care home is not covered under insurance, we have to pay out of pocket to keep her in the facility, and the monthly cost to keep her at the facility is $2500 a month. There’s only so much that I can do as I am trying to balance keeping her taken care of while also trying to keep my mental stable during this transition into being a caregiver. I am asking for anyone who can to help donate towards her cost to stay at this personal care home. She has been through so much in life in general but especially these last 6 months and My hope is that with time and proper care, she will be able to gain back some of her strength both mentally and physically. I just want to make the rest of the time God blesses her with, as blissful as possible. Anything will help, and I will continue to share updates on her journey to recovery. Her birthday is July 3rd, and God willing, she will be celebrating 80 years

Thank you in advance to anyone that contributes; it is truly appreciated!
