Let's help Jaycob receive his liver transplant

My nephew Jaycob is 14 years old and since he was only 6 months old, he was diagnosed with Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis (PFIC), which is a rare genetic liver disease leading to liver damage and liver failure. Since then, he has had to face a life full of medical treatments, laboratories, medicines, and many hospital visits. He is a very strong, loving child with a huge faith in God.

In the last month, his health has deteriorated severely. He has been hospitalized four times and is currently waiting for an urgent liver transplant that will save his life.

His mom, my sister, has had to stop working to be with him day and night in the hospital due to complications while we wait for the liver transplant. As a family, we are doing everything possible to cope with this situation, but medical expenses, transportation, food, and day-to-day life have become very difficult to cover.

Jaycob dreams of having a normal life like any other child his age. His courage inspires us every day, and today more than ever, we need everyone's support.

Ayudemos a Jaycob a recibir su trasplante de hígado

Mi sobrino Jaycob tiene 14 años y desde que tenía solo 6 meses fue diagnosticado con colestasis intrahepática familiar progresiva (PFIC), lo cual es una enfermedad genética rara que afecta el flujo de líquido biliar del hígado, causando daño hepático. Desde entonces, ha tenido que enfrentar una vida llena de tratamientos médicos, laboratorios, medicamentos y muchas visitas al hospital. Es un niño muy fuerte, amoroso y con una fe enorme en Dios.

En el último mes, su salud ha empeorado gravemente. Ha estado hospitalizado cuatro veces y actualmente está esperando un trasplante de hígado urgente que le salvará la vida.

Su mamá, mi hermana, ha tenido que dejar de trabajar para poder estar con él día y noche en el hospital debido a complicaciones que han surgido en la espera del hígado nuevo. Como familia, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para sobrellevar esta situación, pero los gastos médicos, transporte, comida y el día a día se han vuelto muy difíciles de cubrir.

Jaycob sueña con tener una vida normal como cualquier otro niño de su edad. Su valentía nos inspira cada día, y hoy más que nunca, necesitamos del apoyo de todos.
