It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved uncle, Jay Lamont Cabell, who lost his battle with liver cancer on November 4, 2025. Jay was originally from The Bronx, New York, but had been residing in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he spent his final days surrounded by family and love.

Jay was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2020, and for nearly five years, he fought with unbelievable strength, humor, and resilience. Even on his hardest days, he continued to show love, protect his family, and bring laughter to every room he entered.

As a family, we are preparing to honor Jay’s life with two services: one in Spartanburg, SC, and another near his hometown of Peekskill, NY, so that all of his loved ones can say their goodbyes and celebrate his life where his journey began and where it ended.
