Hey there everyone, Lindsay here. I'm getting lots of messages asking how you guys can support my dad Jay, and us, during this time.

Please take a small portion of your time to read this, share, and donate if possible. Every penny counts.

For those of you who know Jay Lagerman, you know how giving, loving, and caring he is. He would stop his day to help anyone in need, putting aside his own personal issues. This man has lived a difficult life facing many struggles and has always gone out of the way for others, well now he needs your help.

My father, Jay, is in critical condition at UW Swedish American in Rockford at this very moment due to an aortic dissection. This was found by doctors to be type b, the less severe of the two, less likely to need surgery unless the condition worsens and the aortic valve suddenly ruptures/tears, or deteriorates more than it has.

As of right now he is still in his first 24 hours being the most critical time for him and his loved ones, so keep him in your thoughts and prayers if you will please.

As for his wife Leah Root, oldest daughter Lindsay, and youngest daughter who just turned 10, we need this help and support right now. My father will be out to recover for a while so this will affect my family's income. My mom Leah will likely lose hours at work too due to this situation, as will I, as we are all taking turns being here taking care of him during this difficult time. My family is never greedy, we try to help and support others as much as possible. Jay taught us all this trait. Please, please, please help if you can. Once again, every penny counts.

For those who don't know, my Dad runs a Stateline secret Santa group almost every year and makes several families happy as can be by being able to deliver gifts to those who need the help. This man gives back more than anyone I know, takes care of his family and has always put himself last. So this is his time to be put first.
