I’m Lynn Fuller Kirk, Nancy and I have been close friends for over fifty years.

Jay and Nancy Flatford Oyler have faced unimaginable challenges in the past few months. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, they lost their home and almost all of their belongings. As if that devastation wasn’t enough, Jay is also battling a serious health crisis. He has been diagnosed with a brain tumor that surgery couldn’t remove. The only option now is to insert a drain tube to relieve pressure and keep him comfortable.

Jay and Nancy's lives have been completely upended. Jay’s health makes it impossible for him to relocate from Florida, but with no home and no belongings left, they are in desperate need of help. Both are on disability, and with medical bills piling up and nowhere to turn locally for support, they are struggling to find their footing.

Nancy grew up in Converse and graduated from Marion High School, while Jay hails from Swayzee and graduated from Oak Hill. Both have deep roots in Grant County, Indiana, where they’ve built lasting friendships and family connections. Although they now live in Florida, they have no family there to lean on during this incredibly difficult time.
