My name is Jay. My wife, Jaymie, and I are both disabled and waiting for a decision from SSI that will be at least two and a half months from now. We have been slowly losing our abilities to sickness and disease for several years now, and find ourselves at the edge of winter with nothing but a van and hope.

The van in question is a 1997 Chevy 1500 that we are almost done converting into a highly insulated camper. We currently need help replacing the water pump as it is leaking from the "weep hole." I have been doing yard work for friends and have raised $100 of the $650 quote I received from a local car repair shop. I'm going to keep looking for work, but we could really use your help. The nighttime temperatures are getting close to freezing and we are running water in the engine because we can't afford the amount of coolant that would be lost. Any amount will help us. If we lose the van, we have no place else to go.
