Jaxx was able to get his surgery last week with money down and a monthly payment plan set up. His surgery went great, he got a plate and 8 screws in his leg. A neighbor came forward and informed us they saw Jaxx get hit by a car, and the driver fled the scene. This is what broke his leg.

He had a check-up at the one week mark, and unfortunately has some complications in his recovery. Due to the extensive bruising and tissue damage from the impact, his leg became very angry, and very infected. His doctors were shocked to see this when they unwrapped his bandage, and had to do a lot of clean up and re-suturing. With new antibiotics and more frequent bandage changes, we should be able to kick the infection and save his leg. Please keep your healing vibes coming, fingers crossed, prayers muttered; however you send your energy and light!

In April, my friend Corey passed away unexpectedly, leaving his two German Shepherds, Jaxx and Bella, in the care of his father, Doug.

Jaxx has broken one of his legs, which needs a plate and screws - a nearly 5k operation. As tragedy and hardship have already hit this family hard before Jaxx’s injury, this has been another difficult blow, leaving Doug in need of some support from his friends and community.

Corey loved his dogs with his whole heart, and since he’s not here to care for Jaxx himself, I hope I can find some help to fill that void and make sure his boy can recover with the least amount of financial stress possible for Doug.

Jaxx is such a sweetheart, a playful ball-obsessed goof, and most importantly, he was Corey’s companion. Jaxx brought joy and comfort to Corey’s life, and hopefully will continue to do the same for Doug for a long time yet! It will be a long recovery, and Bella will be thrilled to have her playmate back once Jaxx is healed!
