My name is Josh, loving husband and father of 3. My wife and I are seeking help for the remaining amount of time our new born son Jaxton has to be in the hospital. It’s been a rough and what seems like never ending road facing obstacle after obstacle.. It started in Alabama where we had moved in search of happiness and new beginnings. My wife got pregnant early in the year and started to get really sick. She was hospitalized for a good amount of time. In a place where we had no recourses and weren’t getting the help or answers we need, we decided the right thing to do was come back home. I was unable to work due to the fact we also have a 10 and 2 year old that need taking care of. Running out of money and not wanting to get trapped it was our only option. Fast forward about a week later, we’re back in California trying to get back into the swing of things. My wife was admitted back to the hospital, this time diagnosed with pre eclampsia and hyperemesis gravidarum and was told she needed to stay on bedrest under the hospitals care for the remainder of her pregnancy being promised numerous things that’s were untrue like having him bedside, getting skin to skin and coming home from the hospital with him. After being hospitalized for around 2 1/2 months a c-section was was planned for 34 weeks with no real explanation on why she couldn’t carry him any longer. Our son Jaxton was born on 10/11/25, the blessing we’ve all been waiting for. 3 days later my wife finally gets to come home, empty handed without our son who is now stuck in the nicu with an estimated date to come home “around his original due date” which was 11/22/25. After all this sacrificing we’ve done and being reassured non of this would happen the next day we received a call neither of us would have ever expected. At 4 days old our son Jaxton was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect known as tetrology of fallot (something normally noticeable pretty early on in pregnancy and is less than a 1% chance). This is 4 different heart problems that I won’t elaborate to much on right here but advise you all to do some research. The plan was for him to reach a certain weight and come up with a plan of action as far as care goes. Time ran out and emergency heart surgery was performed at just 15 days old. He wasn’t big enough to perform the whole surgery so there will be more to come. Up until now his recovery has been great but he’s still got some time to go. It’s taken everything in us to come forward with this information publicly and actually put our pride to the side and ask for help only because we’ve reached a point where we actually need it. I’ve been struggling to commit to work at the moment with all the obstacles we’ve been dealing with in recent months. Thanks for reading, please pass this message along.
