Support Jaxon’s Journey after Classic VW Vanagon Caught Fire

Jaxon, a 22 year old college student’s prized possession caught fire, and burst into flames this last Friday night. His 1982 Classic VW Vanagon is completely totaled along with everything inside. If you know Jax you know his undying love for Volkswagens. He was happiest camping in his Vanagon with his girlfriend and closest friends. He’ll be quick to say that love for VWs must run in his family. This is his third VW he’s personally owned. He bought his first for $2k and pulled it out the fields in the middle of nowhere when he was 15. Over the years, he’s worked his way up to a Vanagon and has put countless hours and hard work into maintaining this beauty. He has now put well over $20k into this one. He and his girlfriend had planned to travel the world in this van and potentially live in once it was safe and finally ready for long distances, which was so, so close.

He was having trouble with the motor and it hadn’t been running from October 2023 - June 2024. He finally got it up and running again Friday evening and you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face if you tried. He took his VW Vanagon on a quick cruise, grabbed some dinner, and started to head home. That’s when everything went downhill. As he’s approaching a busy intersection that same evening, he heard a loud enough bang to make his ears ring. Within a moment’s notice he was out of his van and it was in flames. Out of nowhere, he watched years of blood, sweat, and tears burn to the ground. Inside the van were hundreds of dollars of tools, camping gear, and vintage items he’d searched for and acquired for years. This thing was his absolute pride and joy.
