Family and friends of Jaxon and Kirk,

On June 3rd, while Jaxon was up at Young Women’s Camp serving her YW, she got a phone call that turned her whole world upside down—her tests confirmed breast cancer.

Two days later, at a follow-up appointment for more testing, there was a surprise twist—Jaxon is pregnant! Such a bittersweet announcement in the middle of so much uncertainty. A few weeks later came another mix of joy and heartache: their sweet baby is a girl (), and she has Down Syndrome.

Jaxon starts chemo on August 11th and will continue until just before baby girl arrives. Shortly after birth, Jaxon will undergo a mastectomy, followed by more chemo and radiation. She’s also pursuing additional treatments (not covered by insurance) in California, on September 8th, to help her manage side effects and rebuild her strength so she can keep up with her “chaos crew” of boys at home.

With baby girl’s diagnosis, there’s a high chance she’ll need surgery soon after birth and will require many therapies in the months and years ahead.

Through all of this, the Thiemanns have stayed strong, but they can’t do it alone. Whether it’s donating financially, signing up to bring a meal, helping with house clean-up, or keeping them in your prayers—every bit of love and support matters.
