On Friday June 18th around 10:30pm Javi was the victim of an unprovoked aggravated assault. He did not know his assailant. He was at a gas station on the corner of our neighborhood less than .5 of a mile from our home. He was savagely beaten in his face and head. While he was unconscious his assailant went after 2 others they were injured but made it inside where the attendant was able to lock the doors. The man returned to Javis body lying on the ground and continued to kick and stomp his skull. He was taken by life flight. He has traumatic brain injury, brain bleeds(epidural hematoma), multiple skull fractures, broken facial bones.

He is currently comatose, sedated and intubated.

Medically we are still facing so many unknowns. If (when) he comes out of this the damage done will affect his daily life.

He may not be the same Javi that loved to watch The Office, superbad or Brad Pitt movies on repeat

He may not be the same Javi that would go along with his kids teaching the cat tricks.

He may not be the same Dad that would come home squeeze Gabes head and joke "damn kid you got a big head"

He may not be the same Dad that would bring home friends to challenge Tristan in basketball telling them that his kid would kick their butts

He may not be the same Son that is such a Mommas boy he would need to speak to her everyday

He may not be the same Javi that loved to wash and shine his car

He may not be physically or mentally capable to be the same Javi that would help a friend out

His assailant was out on a $100 bond from a previous assault on a woman a month prior. and then another criminal mischief charge just days before. WHY?

Why was this man allowed out on the streets? Right now he is in Jail on a $75,000 bond for Javis assault as well as a $15,000 bond for retaliation because he also went after the paramedic that was trying to provide life saving measures to Javi. Court documents show he jumped on the ambulance bay and grabbed the steering wheel.

But again my question is WHY? Why did it take THIS for this criminal who has 12 charges in Harris County alone to be locked up?

We are asking for help financially with medical/life expenses. But also asking you to take the time to let our political heads know that these $100 bonds are ridiculous.
