Saludos a todos. Les escribe Claribel Llantin, mamá de Javier. Es a través de este medio que le pedimos su ayuda para colaborar con los costos médicos inesperados de Javier. Hace tres semanas, luego de un año con problemas consistentes de salud, Javier recibió la noticia que se le encontró un tumor canceroso en su esófago y parte del estómago (Adenocarcinoma de la Unión Gastroesofágica (UG)).

Javier es mi hijo mayor. Es muchacho de 37 años, joven y activo, que está enfrentando un gran reto en su vida. Incluso a pesar de la situación tan difícil que está enfrentando, continúa trabajando en la industria de restaurantes en Carolina del Norte, como lo ha hecho desde hace muchos años. Además es un excelente artista visual, destacándose en varios medios de pintura. Lamentablemente, con el comienzo de su tratamiento, no va a poder continuar trabajando. De igual manera, se le hará imposible asumir todos sus costos de necesidades básicas y todos los costos de tratamientos médicos que sean necesarios para que pueda superar esta situación.

A partir de la semana que viene, comenzará a recibir quimioterapia y radioterapia por varias semanas. Lo que sigue luego de estos tratamientos es una cirugía torácica para remover el tumor canceroso.

Hasta el momento, es toda la información que tenemos. Es un momento de mucha incertidumbre en la vida de Javier y para el resto de su familia. No sabemos cuánto dinero y sacrificio conllevará el tratamiento y el proceso de recuperación para Javier, es por esto que decidimos crear esta página de GoFundMe. Greetings to all. This is Claribel Llantin, Javier’s mother, writing to you. We are reaching out through this medium to ask for your help in contributing to some unexpected medical expenses for Javier. Three weeks ago, after a year of ongoing health issues, Javier received the news that a cancerous tumor was found in his esophagus and part of his stomach (Gastroesophageal Junction Adenocarcinoma (GEJ)).

Javier is my eldest son. He is a 37-year-old young and active man who is now facing a major challenge in his life. Even in the midst of this very difficult situation, he continues to work in the restaurant industry in North Carolina, as he has been for many years. He is also an excellent visual artist, excelling in various painting mediums. Unfortunately, with the start of his treatment, he will no longer be able to continue working. Likewise, it will be impossible for him to cover all of his basic needs as well as the medical treatment costs necessary for him to overcome this situation.

Starting next week, he will begin several weeks of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. After these treatments, he will undergo thoracic surgery to remove the cancerous tumor.
