Support Javier Herrera's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Over the past few years, one of our very own Urbana Hawks Football/Basketball/Baseball families has been privately battling the dreaded "C" word. Javier Herrera, husband of Heather and father of 4 - Blake, Hadley, Aiden, and Colt Stone, was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Javier's battle has had its ups and downs, but he has not let that stand in his way of attending Urbana Hawks Football and Baseball games, volunteer coaching Aiden and his best buds BCWB Basketball Team for several years, as well as being a terrific husband, father, and provider.
In July, Javi was scheduled to undergo a very complicated procedure, HIPEC Surgery, which unfortunately the doctors were not able to complete as they discovered the cancer had spread even more so than initially thought. Javi is now battling additional masses in his bladder, lungs, abdominal area, and even a new mass in his colon that wasn't visible prior. At this point, the Herrera/Stone family are looking for a miracle.
Javi is a warrior and will keep fighting for his family. He will be starting another round of intensive chemo and targeted radiation at the end of the week to try to contain and slow the spread. Javi has taken a leave of absence from his job and Heather has taken on a full-time role as caretaker for her husband - this beautiful Urbana family needs our help. Please consider donating, anything is appreciated.
