My name is Leslie Garcia. My cat Jasper is an important part of my life, and recently he’s needed medical care that has led to significant vet bills.

Jasper is my adorable 15-year-old tuxedo cat who has been my companion for half of my life. He loves to cuddle and enjoys creamy puree treats, bringing so much love and meaning to my life.

Jasper has struggled with asthma for a long time, and about three years ago, he was hit with pneumonia. Since then, he’s been on daily steroids and an asthma pump to help him breathe. Seasonal changes are especially tough for him, and his allergies often trigger serious asthma attacks.

Just today, Jasper had a close call that nearly took him from me. His nose turned purple, he became limp, and he was gasping for air. I managed to get him treatment and rush him to the emergency hospital, even in the middle of a snowstorm, making the journey more treacherous. At the hospital, Jasper was found to have an elevated heart rate, dehydration, and inflamed bronchioles. He received radiography, IV fluids, steroids, an inhaler, oxygen therapy, and blood work. He was admitted for an overnight stay and a 12-hour checkup to make sure he was stable. The medical bills for his care have added up drastically and are more than I can manage on my own.

I’m asking for help to cover Jasper’s overnight hospital stay, his medication, and treatment. I know it’s a hard time for everybody and I’m not one to seek out help, but I very much appreciate everyone’s support. Any contribution will make a difference for Jasper and help him get the care he needs to keep fighting.
