My name is Jessi Poole and I'm creating this page to try and ease some of the financial burden that our family will be facing in the foreseeable future.

This is Jason's journey- on August 2nd Jay left the house to go participate in our little girls beauty pageant. It was a completely ordinary day for us, until it wasn't. At this festival our son wanted to do the rock wall climb- he was afraid to do it alone so Jay being Jay without hesitation proceeded to do it with him. The rock systems braking system failed and Jay dropped roughly 25 ft. He snapped his ankle in three places.

He underwent immediate surgery after being transferred to UK . Jay has had a total of 9 surgeries so far with more in the coming weeks. After being discharged after his initial surgery he was readmitted just two short days later after he set up some of the nastiest infections your body can brew. Multiple wash out surgeries followed over the next 2.5 weeks. Our hospital stay unfortunately didn't end with that discharge as he was only home for three days before calling me at work stating he couldn't catch his breath, he couldn't breathe.

On August 24th he was readmitted yet again only this time it was due to bilateral pulmonary embolisms. We have lasted a total of 5 days before we are BACK at UK because his foot is losing circulation.

Jay would never in a million years ask someone for anything, much less financial help. If you know Jay you know he is kind, caring, and passionate about anyone he comes in contact with. This man does not know the meaning of a stranger- and he would literally give the shirt off of his own back if it meant helping someone in need.

Jason's entire life has changed, and the fact of the matter is he still has a very very high probability that he will have to have his foot amputated. If he doesn't lose it completely he will lose half of the mobility if not more. While I am beyond grateful for the care he has received from UK I would be lying if I said when these bills started rolling in it was a slap in the face.

While his insurance has covered a lot of it, he is still responsible for a very hefty chunk. There is absolutely no donation being made that is to big or little as every penny earned will go towards keeping these bills from collections.

Jason is a proud veteran, current sheriff's deputy, a proud network manager. He has sacrificed in more ways than one for those around him, and never once hesitated to answer the call of someone in need.

Jay needs support now- the legal battle will take years to process. He didn't ask for this to happen, he wasn't prepared for this to happen and he will NEVER live life like he did prior to this happening. Private donations, sponsorship, fundraisers and overall community support will help carry the financial burden this accident has placed on our family. We have months of appointments to carry out, possible readmissions from all the complications. Nothing will be underappreciated.
