So you all know by now Jason got our vacation off to an interesting start on Monday night when he had an accidental fall into the fire and severely burned his face. We have stayed here for care so far. Jason said we already paid to be here and he can see doctors and be miserable here; he's wanting things to be as normal as he can and let the kids still try to enjoy their vacation. He's handing this like a complete champ, doesn't want them scared any more than they already have been.
We've already been to ER Trauma and followed up this morning to confirm everything is currently healing as it should. Will have to follow up with burn clinic when we get back to Cincinnati we don't know how many times. Burns take at least 5 days to show their full scope, so we won't even truly know what we are working with until next week. We have health insurance but have to hit deductible before they pay their 80%.
We aren't ones to do this, swallowing big pride to do so, but we are asking for a little bit of help. He has recovery time ahead of him and more medical bills and the lost wages will start Monday (probably at least 2 weeks). We're a couple of weeks out from feeling that missed paycheck, but we will. I still have my income but we all know how expensive life is, mine honestly is not enough to cover all of the household bills. Jason doesn't have any sort of FMLA or short term disability.
We don't want anyone to feel obligated to give, life is expensive for everyone, but we would truly appreciate any help covering the gap for medical bills, household bills & groceries in a couple weeks when his paychecks stop.
