Hi guys,
It's Logen! I am back to working full time now with some side quests and am taking my real estate test this week so I am able to hopefully help our family. After running our bills, we are incredibly behind and I just wanted to reach out to our support system. We have a few bills on payment arrangements, and groceries are eating us alive so we have been buckling down on our budgets. We also have medical bills still rolling in from MD anderson. Looking at another $1500 from them. Jasons been to the ER twice this month due to being sick and we just aren't where we thought we would be. We honestly just wanted to be totally transparent as you guys have helped us share our story all over the US and would be so grateful for you to continue sharing our story.
Thank you much for being there for us always.
I love you guys!

3/25: We now are going to have to take Jason to MD anderson, leaving us to cover costs for him to get down to Houston. We also will have to have somewhere to stay while Jason is in the hospital. We also have all of our bills coming up on the first.
We are beyond grateful for our village. Please keep praying
3/8: Jason had to have emergency surgery yesterday. He was 3.5 weeks post op from his gastrectomy with severe complications. Yesterday, Jason got out of surgery around 5:30 this afternoon. They went for tbeir laparoscopy and found that his sutures at his Roux-en-Y connection were entirely too tight. Air wasnt even able to pass through.
They had to open Jason back up, and completely redo those sutures.
This means we are completely back at square one, or even worse. The surgeon here let us know that recovery will be harder this time around as his body has undergone major surgery twice in the last 30 days.
We are extremely angry, frustrated, and honestly have no words. This just shouldn't have happened. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we navigate the next few weeks.
Jason will be in the hospital for at minimum a week. We will need all the help we can get so we will be accepting everyone's offers to help us.
We love you guys. Please keep praying.
1/28: Dr Mansfield’s team has officially set a date for surgery in February. Costs associated will be for a 2 week Airbnb, hopefully a flight so Jason won’t have to drive in a car 2 weeks post op for 9 hours (he has to stop every 1.5hours)
We are still awaiting pathology but his team has let us know that 84% of CDH1 patients already have stage 1 gastric cancer so we are prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. They said it won’t change anything surgery date wise, so we are hopeful! Thank you for continued prayers.
12/7 Hi everyone!
Some of you may know, Jason’s dad passed away when he was 4, at age 34 from an aggressive stomach cancer. Jason tested positive for the CDH1 gene and has been undergoing routine surveillance over the last 5+ years, knowing that he has a 70%+ chance of developing this cancer. While undergoing an endoscopy procedure on 12-12-2024, they found multiple nodules which indicate that the symptoms may be beginning; however, we are awaiting pathology. The time has come for him to undergo a total gastrectomy. We can’t afford to play the waiting game with 2 littles under 2. This procedure will involve a 2-week stay at MD Anderson, 1 week in the hospital, and another week here recovering before he can travel home. He has been out of work since October due to health issues and unforeseen circumstances. We have had family members express interest in helping support us through this difficult time! If you are able to share our story, please do so, and any and all donations are greatly appreciated. This GoFundMe is for housing costs for surgery, surgery costs/copays, food/bills while we are out of town, and maintaining our rent at home since we will be in and out of the hospital. Thank you guys for reading if you’ve gotten this far! We will continue to update you as Jason’s journey moves along. Please share if you can.
Overall, we are so grateful for the opportunity to get ahead of this gene and do this surgery. We appreciate all the prayers; we know God is in control!
Much Love,
