I’ve struggled to know what to do and have put off trying this but I can’t think of another option. Writing this is not easy, but I’m sharing because I’ve learned how important community can be during hard seasons—and I’m opening the door to support.

Over the past several months, I’ve completed 8 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy for anal cancer. While I’m grateful to have made it through treatment, the financial impact has been significant. I’m currently in active appeals with my insurance company regarding coverage for medically necessary care. While those decisions are pending, I’m carrying approximately $140,000 in out-of-pocket medical debt.

At the same time, treatment and recovery have limited my ability to work consistently, making everyday living expenses harder to manage. I’m pursuing every available option—insurance appeals, public assistance programs, and additional resources—but these processes take time, and the costs continue in the meantime.

I hesitated to create this fundraiser, but after much thought and encouragement, I decided to share what’s happening rather than try to manage everything quietly on my own.

Contributions will help with:

• Medical bills and treatment-related expenses

• Insurance gaps, copays, and uncovered care

• Basic living expenses during recovery (housing, utilities, food)

• Transportation and follow-up medical care
