Hello Family and Friends.

I come to you with a rather heavy heart. This is not in my makeup to do unless it is for someone in desperate need and someone I love dearly. As most of you may know. My very first nephew was born when I was 16 years old. He was my family's entire world. This little boy gave us years of joy. He was always with us and was more than a nephew to me and my sister. He was our little brother. He grew to be a friend and even sometimes a mentor at such a much younger age than I.

Back in June, following his life path, he moved to Peru. He has a lot of love for people and helping others.

Now he has found himself in a difficult place and needs some assistance to help him pay his bills and find his way.

Below is a note he sent to me a few days ago. Of course our family is doing all we can to help him.

Any amount will help him and of course if all you can offer are positive thoughts and prayers, they are most appreciative and needed for all of us. It is so very hard knowing he is so far away. He is alone. I have shed many tears over this and from me to you, I love you for even considering helping him.

With much love to you and yours. DeeDee

Dear Family and Friends,

This is a difficult note for me to write, but I wanted to reach out honestly and openly.

First, please know that I am doing okay. Peru is safe, beautiful, and has been a deeply meaningful and transformative experience for me so far. There is no need to worry about my safety.

What is harder for me is asking for help—especially from family. I’ve always been determined to find my own way, and while I’m proud of that independence, I’m learning that trying to do everything on my own can sometimes create unnecessary hardship. One lesson I believe God is teaching me right now is allowing myself to ask for support when I need it.

At the moment, I’m facing a short-term financial challenge. I am no longer working with the organization that initially brought me to Peru (I’m happy to share more details if you’d like). While I have some promising opportunities ahead and remain hopeful that my work will soon generate income, I don’t currently have a stable source of income and am living week to week.

The good news is that the cost of living here is quite low, and I can manage comfortably on about $1,000 per month. However, my savings are exhausted, my computer—which I rely on for work—is currently not functioning, and I don’t yet have the means to repair it. That uncertainty has been difficult, and I find that when I slip into survival mode, it can be hard to move forward.

I completely understand that finances are tight for everyone, and if you’re not in a position to help, I truly respect and understand that. Even your encouragement and prayers mean more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering my request. I am grateful for each of you and your love and support.

With love,
Jason
