My name is Erika, and I’m reaching out for help for my boyfriend, Jason, who has been bravely battling heart failure for the past year. Recently, Jason was admitted to the hospital and is scheduled for open heart surgery next week as we move into the new year. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, as Jason had to stop working due to his health, and I’ve become the sole provider for our household.

We’re also caring for our two-year-old granddaughter, who has been with us since birth. With Jason’s ongoing medical needs, I’m responsible for covering rent, utilities, daycare, and the move-in deposit for our new home. On top of these expenses, Jason will need a special reclining bed to help him recover comfortably after surgery—something I simply can’t afford right now. While Jason is still in the process of getting disability benefits approved, I’m doing everything I can to keep our family afloat, but it’s become overwhelming.
