Our family never imagined we would be in this position, but on October 1st, our world was turned upside down. My dad, Jason, went to the hospital for severe chest pains. We soon learned that his heart was in atrial fibrillation, and the situation was far more serious than we ever expected.

Because of the severity, he had to be transported by ambulance from Clarksville to Nashville for urgent care. Once there, we were hit with even more devastating news—his aorta is enlarged, a condition that carries very real risks. Doctors shocked his heart back into rhythm and started him on several strong medications, but his journey to recovery is only just beginning.

What makes this even harder is that my dad is a single father of two who has always worked hard and sacrificed for us. He’s the type of man who never asks for help, no matter how tough things get. But this time, he can’t do it alone. Without health insurance, the medical bills and ongoing care are an overwhelming weight on top of an already frightening situation.
