Support Jason's Fight Against Throat Cancer

Hello,

My name is Jason. I recently had a hospital visit that ended in what I never thought would be told to me. I’m almost 48 years old and 3 years ago in December I had open heart surgery to get my heart valve replaced. That in itself was a scary thing to go through as I had just had my daughter that March. I recently went into the ER with high blood pressure and upon being there they discovered my thyroid’s were producing too much hormones and decided to do an ultrasound scan. They found one on each side nodules measuring at 9.5 and 10.5cm. The dr said he wouldn’t be worried if they were at 4cm but considering where they are he is urging me to get a biopsy done. Like any other person I asked what the percentage was of me having cancer. He said based off what he saw it’s a 70% chance I have throat cancer. Hearing this news is devastating, my work doesn’t provide insurance, the insurance I have would take me out to LA which I cannot afford to do especially if I need treatment. I have a 3 year old Level 3 Autistic daughter that lights up every time I come into the room. I can’t imagine not being here to see her grow up. My fiancé and I tried to set up a way where we would make Paracord Keychains to sell and use that money to get myself insurance but unfortunately there isn’t much luck on that. So I unfortunately although didn’t want to have to make a go fund me. I don’t expect donations really, but anything can and will help. The amount requested is to pay for at least a years worth of medical insurance so I can get everything done in that time frame and hopefully by then we can have money saved up to continue to pay for it.
