Support Jason's Fight Against Colon Cancer

2/12/25 Update:
Jay was admitted to the hospital on Monday because his bilirubin and liver enzymes were very high and his sodium level was very low. His oncology team ordered further testing and scans that showed that Jay's cancer had grown in his liver and it also showed he had metastatic lesions in his lungs as well. His Oncologist said that it would be too dangerous for Jay to pursue any other treatment as his cancer is very aggressive and is not responsive to chemo.
Jay and Christy have made the incredibly difficult decision to transition Jay to hospice to keep Jay as comfortable as possible. Jay will be transferred to Trillium Woods tomorrow, 2/13/25.
If you would like to visit Jay, please reach out to Christy to make sure he is settled in and ready for visitors. Please continue to pray for Jay, Christy, Cason and Alix and all who love Jay as they walk this difficult road.
My name is Mike Keena. Three years ago, I lost my Dad to colon cancer. Recently, my younger brother Jason (he’s in the center back row of the photo, I am on his left), was diagnosed with the same cancer that took our Dad, metastatic colon cancer that has spread into his abdomen and liver. Jason is 46 years old, he has a family that needs him. I know my brother wants to fight this disease, but not alone. While he undergoes treatment, his body will be weakened, but not his Spirit. Being able to work and live a normal life will be very difficult for him and his family and they will need support. As Jason, Christy, Cason, and Alix all prepare to fight this battle, I ask you to consider donating to help support them. I ask you to include them, and others around the world who are battling cancer, in your prayers. We thank you deeply for your support and your prayers.
We are deeply humbled by the generosity of those near and far. We have successfully reached our initial fundraising in ONE DAY. Enduring cancer treatment will be long, hard and expensive and there are unknowns ahead for Jay. With that being said, we are increasing our goal amount to continue to raise funds to help support Jay and his family as they move forward. We believe in the power of community and coming together and thank you one and all for the generosity, support and love you have poured over Jay and our family thus far.
Update:
Thank you again for your continued support in our fundraising efforts to help support Jay in his battle to fight colorectal cancer. We are very humbled by the generosity of all. We will continue to fundraise for Jay as his battle is just beginning and we are going to support him every step of the way. With deepest gratitude, the Keena family.
