Goodbye, brother. We are not alone.
As many of you know, my brother and best friend, Jason, passed away peacefully on July 9th, surrounded by family, in the comfort of his home.
It’s okay to smile here—he would want that. Jason needed so little to be happy. Each morning he’d wake, look around, and everything he ever wanted was right there: a beautiful wife, Jen. A daughter, Jordan, who filled the house with laughter. Two loving, supportive parents. And a younger brother—me—whom he named, and helped raise.
Jason wouldn’t have had it any other way but to go first. He took his last breath holding our hands. We felt his heart stop. We witnessed the moment when body and soul quietly parted. We gently touched his face, to feel his fading warmth just a little longer.
Dying is not for the weak. It takes courage to let go. Dignity to walk forward. And trust—that we will continue to protect what he lived for most.
The most beautiful part of Jason’s life was you. He loved so deeply. Even if you never felt his light directly, it was there. And it still is.
