Jason was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), and his fight is just beginning. As you can imagine, the road ahead will be long and filled with numerous challenges—physically, emotionally, and financially. Jason’s health struggles began back in May, when he was hospitalized with a perforated colon caused by diverticulitis. After nearly losing his life twice and enduring a month-long hospital stay, he was sent home with an ileostomy bag.

In early September, as he prepared for a reversal surgery, pre-operative blood work revealed alarming results. The surgery was postponed, and further investigation led to a bone marrow biopsy, which confirmed Jason’s AML diagnosis. AML is an aggressive form of leukemia that requires immediate and intensive treatment. On Friday, September 6th, Jason was transferred to Corewell Health Dearborn to begin chemotherapy. In the coming months, he will undergo a series of treatments, including chemotherapy and other therapies, which will result in significant medical expenses, extended hospital stays, and time away from work.

Funds raised will help cover these medical costs, travel to treatment centers, and the many unexpected expenses that arise during such a difficult time. Beyond medical bills, there are daily living expenses—household bills, meals, and caregiving needs—that require additional support. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a tremendous impact, providing Jason and his family with one less burden as they focus on his recovery.

Jason has always been the person others can rely on, whether by offering a helping hand, lending a listening ear, or simply showing up when someone is in need. Now, as he faces this challenge, it is our turn to be there for him. He has given so much to those around him, and now he needs our support more than ever.
