On October 5th, Jason Titus was heading home on his motorcycle just above Taughannock Falls when a car suddenly turned left in front of him, causing a devastating collision. He was launched through the air, struck a guardrail, and landed hard on it. The impact left him with severe injuries: a dislocated left ankle, fractured left foot, dislocated left hip, broken pelvic bone, broken right ribs, a punctured right lung, spinal injury with swelling, and internal bleeding that required emergency surgery for a small intestine and colon resection.
As a result of the spinal damage, Jason’s right leg has limited function—he’s regained some movement and strength, but the full extent of recovery won’t be clear for several months. He spent three weeks in the hospital fighting for his life, followed by another three weeks at the VA for intensive rehabilitation. He’s expected to remain there for at least five more weeks as he continues to heal and rebuild his strength.
This accident has turned Jason’s world upside down, and the road to recovery will be long and challenging, both physically and financially. Your support through this GoFundMe will help Jason navigate the financial challenges of his recovery, including essential needs and support while he’s unable to work. Any contribution, big or small, means the world to Jason and his loved ones. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and well-wishes. Let’s help him get through this together.
